Playboy and Código 1530 debut Tequila
Independently owned Código 1530 has teamed up with leisure lifestyle brand Playboy to launch Rare Hare Double Barrel Añejo Tequila.
The expression was matured in French oak barrels that previously held Napa Valley Cabernet and finished in fino Sherry casks over the course of two years.
“We thought it would be a terrific pairing to partner Código 1530, a leader in hand-crafted spirits with Playboy, a pioneer as a global lifestyle and entertainment brand,” said Ron Snyder, CEO of the Tequila company.
On the nose, the spirit offers notes of spicy pepper, dried fruits and honey, with a ‘long, mellow and easy-to-drink’ palate.
The liquid is bottled in crystal glass and packaged in a hand-crafted wooden box with dual Playboy and Código 1530 branding.
“Both brands highlight the simple luxuries,” Snyder continued. “This partnership embodies the essence of the Playboy brand as curators of pleasure and self-expression, and brings that together with the craftsmanship, creativity and sophistication of Código 1530 in a unique collaboration.”
The new expression is priced at US$899, and just 1,530 bottles have been produced.
In August, the agave spirits brand debuted a 13-year-old Tequila finished in ex-Cognac casks.
