American Bar at The Savoy to reopen
By Kate MalczewskiThe Savoy hotel’s American Bar in London will reopen on Monday 4 October.

The renowned bar was forced to temporarily close its doors due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Last summer, during its closure, bar manager Declan McGurk and head bartender Maxim Schulte stepped down from their respective roles.
Thus, the American Bar’s reopening will mark a new era for the venue, as Shannon Tebay takes the helm as head bartender – the first American to fill the position, and the first woman in the role in more than 100 years.
Tebay officially joined the Savoy team in August, and has since been working on a new cocktail list, set to launch in November.
Until then, the American Bar will serve an interim menu of 15 drinks, available from Monday to Friday from 4pm.
