Rome de Bellegarde collaborates with Ghass Rouzkhosh

Cognac brand Rome de Bellegarde has unveiled a second release of 150 decanters designed by artist Ghass Rouzkhosh.

Ghass XIII+I bottle
Each 750ml decanter was hand painted by artist Ghass Rouzkhosh

Taking inspiration from many of Rouzkhosh’s key artistic periods, the 750ml decanter uses world peace as the main theme for the design.

The product also pays tribute to the number 13, which is often referenced in the Iranian artist’s work and inspired the name of the Cognac collection, Ghass XIII+I. Each decanter was hand-painted.

The Ghass XIII+I blend was matured for 30 years and stored in new barrels for three to five years, before being placed in traditional oak barrels.

The resulting liquid has an aroma of vanilla, and notes of jammy fruit, orange marmalade, quince and pear.

Rome de Bellegarde founder David Bellegarde-Smeralda said: “Our family is honoured to see 150 of our bottles reimagined by this masterful artist – Ghass.

“He created a unique and stylish design that elegantly underlines the richness and rarity of our Cognac, whilst capturing how iconic and precious our liquid is.”

Bellegarde-Smeralda added that the series marks the first of several collaborations between the brand and other artists.

The product price is available upon request via sales@romedebellegarde.com.

Rome de Bellegarde is a French-Caribbean, family-owned business that dates back to 1725.

In November 2018, M Restaurant Group become the first on-trade venue to list Rome de Bellegarde 1894, said to be the most expensive Cognac in the world.
