Lakes Distillery unveils fruity single malt
English producer The Lakes Distillery has partnered with Master of Malt to release 600 bottles of Miramar, the third launch in its Whiskymaker’s Editions series.
The new expression is a ‘fruity and lively’ single malt, crafted by Lakes Distillery whiskymaker Dhavall Gandhi.
Gandhi said: “Miramar is versatile and expansive, bursting with stone fruit character contrasted with comforting vanilla and hints of gentle spice.
“Layers of intricately woven flavours bring about a perfumed elegance with accentuated notes of Santa Rosa plums, morello cherries, honeyed fruits and toasted malts.”
The 54% ABV, non-chill-filtered whisky is the most recent addition to the Whiskymaker’s Editions, a line of one-off single malt releases.
Six hundred bottles of the expression are available from Master of Malt for an RRP of £80 (US$110.76).
It follows the release of the cake-inspired single malt called Le Goûter, launched exclusively for luxury retailer Harvey Nichols last month. The first launch in the range was a single malt matured in Port casks, debuted last year.
In May, The Lakes said it anticipated production growth of 70% for its single malts in the coming year.
