Global Bartending Talent Agency unveils new platforms

Global Bartending, the talent agency for drinks professionals, has announced two new initiatives that aim to support the hospitality industry with additional revenue streams and learning resources.

The first, Global Bartending Marketplace, is an online shop that sells bar equipment, books and bottled cocktails from top bars and bartenders.

The agency takes a 10% commission from the sales, which will, for the first year, be reinvested into the marketplace’s advertising; the rest of the profits will go to the bartenders and venues that create the products ‘to restore and help bartenders and venues raise revenue’.

The shop accepts Bitcoin, making Global Bartending ‘one of the first companies in the drinks industry’ to use the cryptocurrency, in addition to processing payments using PayPal.

Dan Dove, founder of Global Bartending Talent Agency and former Diageo World Class manager, said: “After an extremely difficult year we would like to shine a light on the difficulties that the hospitality industry has had to face throughout the pandemic.

“We believe that also enabling cryptocurrency as a form of payment will open the hospitality industry to new opportunities and help set it up for the future.”

The second initiative, called Helping Hospitality, is an online platform that hosts videos featuring talks from well-known industry figures including Joe Schofield of Schofield’s Bar in Manchester and New York City-based bartender and Speed Rack founder Lynnette Marrero.

The videos cover topics such as rebuilding businesses after the pandemic and developing new ideas to bring in revenue.

“As part of the bartending community ourselves, we want to help and give back to as many people as possible,” commented Dove. “We hope that our small contribution helps our beloved industry get back up and running and that we can provide some much needed support.”

The Global Bartending Talent Agency officially launched in July 2020, announcing its representation of top bartenders including Deano Moncrieffe, Camille Vidal and Remy Savage.
