Espresso Martini bike in London

Black Cow Vodka has teamed up with London coffee shop Over Under Coffee to deliver Espresso Martinis by bike to west Londoners as they head outdoors for picnics.

Available from 2 to 11 April, drinkers will be able to order a Black Cow Espresso Martini (£8/US$11) and Dorset Donkey (£28/US$39), a 500ml pre-made cocktail containing Black Cow Vodka, Morello Cherry Liqueur and ginger concentrate.

Head to the Over Under website to order. Deliveries are available to parks, houses, flats, and more, as long as they are within a two-mile delivery radius of Over Under Earls Court.

The Underground celebrates third anniversary

Throughout April, The Underground speakeasy and distillery at the Las Vegas Mob Museum will celebrate its third anniversary with a series of special events.

The Las Vegas bar will offer specially-created cocktails such as the Giggle Water and El Colibri cocktail, which is made with pineapple shrub, orange juice, Angostura bitters and ginger-infused moonshine. The Underground will also host events including moonshine tasting workshops.

Live music will also return to The Underground, including a performance from the Shaun DeGraff Trio.

Wonder Women

Female-founded drinks marketing agency Wonderworks Communications has launched a mentoring programme to offer support and guidance to women who work, or want to work, within the drinks business.

The Wonder Women programme is now open for applicants, and one woman will be selected every 12 weeks to participate in the course. Each participant will be partnered with either Sarah Wildman-King and Miranda Hart, founders of Wonderworks Communications, for the duration of the programme.

Throughout the 12 weeks, bi-weekly meeting will offer a safe and supportive space to ask questions and discuss ideas. For details on how to apply visit wearewonderworks.com/wonder-women.

Top Cuvée Easter egg hunt

To celebrate Easter this Sunday (4 April), London bar and restaurant Top Cuvée will host an Easter egg hunt in Clissold Park, North London.

Taking place across the park on Sunday, the drinks-themed Easter egg hunt will include prizes such as subscription boxes, vouchers, tote bags and chocolate eggs.

To take part, follow @topcuvée on Instagram and look out for a participation link on Sunday morning.

Cassio Bar opens in Hong Kong

Hong Kong bar and lounge Cassio has opened, offering entertainment, a ‘cutting-edge music programme’, and Spanish tapas-style dishes.

Cassio owner Gilbert Yeung said: “I want Cassio to be a groovy place where people can lose themselves in the design, music and food. We’re not just a nightclub. We’re welcoming you to your second home where you can spend a whole evening having fun – starting with after-work drinks and tapas and if the mood is right, stay on to dance the night away.”

The venue’s interior has been designed by Daft Punk creative director Cédric Hervet, alongside Nicolas Hervet.

6ourbon 7ime Playlists

Is your Spotify playlist feeling a bit too repetitive at the moment? Well, fear not because Beam Suntory has two new 6ourbon 7ime playlists to inspire you this weekend.

Bartender Keyatta Mincey Parker has put together a list of tracks to be paired with the Clock Smash cocktail recipe, while Chelsea Gregoire’s song list is recommended to be enjoyed with a Springtime of my Life cocktail in hand. Both playlists can be found on Spotify.

For every playlist followed, Beam Suntory will donate US$1 to the Restaurant Workers Community Foundation up to US$500.

Provisions picnic hampers

London’s Provisions has created a bespoke picnic hamper available for nationwide delivery for imbibers to enjoy in outdoor spaces across the country.

Available for three to six people, the hampers will be available to purchase from 5 April. Each hamper includes a variety of artisanal food and drinks, including olives, crackers and cheeses.

The hampers will be plastic-free and come with cutlery and a paper picnic cloth. Priced from £49 (US$68), the hampers can be delivered across the UK or collected from the shop on Holloway Road, London.

An Anthology of 12 Classic Cocktails

If you’re looking for a new tome to add your collection, UK distributor Hi-Spirits and cocktail historian Jake Burger have a new cocktail book that might be of interest.

An Anthology of 12 Classic Cocktails is a limited edition book that explores 12 of the most iconic cocktails, with space to scribble notes and make personal comments. Cocktails include everything from the Negroni to the Manhattan and the Hanky Panky, each made using an assortment of Hi-Spirits’ brands such as: Buffalo Trace Bourbon, Sazerac Rye Whiskey, Carpano Botanic Bitter and Jung and Wulff Rums.

For those who are keen on purchasing physical books, you’ll have to wait until September 2021. But if that’s too far away, the online version of the book is available now along with the audiobook on Spotify. What are you waiting for?

Penderyn Gold range virtual tasting

Welsh whisky brand Penderyn will host an online tasting of its Gold Range of whiskies on Thursday (8 April).

The tasting will include a chance to sample five Penderyn whiskies from its Gold Range during a 90-minute online session. Running on Zoom, tickets for the workshop can be purchased via the Penderyn website and include five 20ml sample bottles of whisky.

The Welsh producer offers a range of different virtual tastings running throughout April. For more information visit the brand’s website.

Equiano’s bottled cocktail

Equiano Rum and London cocktail bar Tayēr + Elementary have collaborated on the creation of a new bottled cocktail, which is available for delivery across Europe.

There are only 250 bottles available of Equiano Rum Cantaloupe Melon Mai Tai (21.6% ABV), which pairs Equiano Original rum with melon liqueur, Muyu Chinotto Nero, Tío Pepe and citrus cordial.

For every bottle sold, £1 (US$1.40) will go to Equiano’s charity partner, Anti-Slavery International.

Alex Kratena, co-founder of Tayēr + Elementary, said: “It is fantastic to be working with such a delicious liquid and we are very happy that the cocktail will do good beyond being a super exciting drink – a fresh variation on classic Mai Tai with rich raisin, oak and chocolate offset by bright zesty citrus, and floral musky aroma of fresh melon.”

The 300ml bottled cocktail is available to buy from Equiano’s website for £28 (US$39) per 300ml. The drink provides three to four servings and is recommended enjoyed over ice.

Bacardi’s whisky boutique in China

Bacardi Global Travel Retail has opened a new seasonal boutique for its whisky portfolio in Hainan, China.

The new boutique, located within the China Duty Free department store at Haintang Bay Mall in Sanya, will be open until the end of April.

The store will offer the Dewar’s blended Scotch whisky range, alongside Bacardi’s single malt portfolio, including Aberfeldy, Royal Brackla, Aultmore, Glen Deveron and Craigellachie.

The highlight of the boutique is an in-store exclusive Aberfeldy 18 Year Old Exceptional Cask whisky, which is limited to 594 bottles. It is priced at US$166 per 700ml.
