Camus International is a subsidiary of Cognac producer Camus Wines and Spirits, focused exclusively on the distribution of Chinese baijiu products worldwide. Its portfolio includes Kweichow Moutai.

Shede Founder’s Tribute will be available exclusively in duty free in limited quantities, priced at RRP US$65 per 500ml bottle.

The product was unveiled at a launch event on 22 April in Shanghai, China, and is expected to become available in duty free stores in the second half of 2021.

The event was hosted by Cyril Camus, president of Camus Wines and Spirits, and Pu Jizhou, CEO and vice president of Shede Spirits.

Jizhou said: “The collaboration between China’s leading strong aroma [baijiu] brand Shede and a world-class Cognac brand, Camus, is the duet of two craftsmen, a recognition for the quality of Shede, and a brand-new start for the internationalisation of Shede Spirits.”

Shede Founder’s Tribute is made using Shede’s oldest pits for fermentation, which date back to the Ming dynasty.

The base spirit is matured for at least six years and blended with 15-year-old vintage baijiu from the Tai’An workshop.

Camus will support Shede Spirits by increasing awareness of strong aroma baijiu around the world through the promotion and integration of Chinese and western cultures.
