To enter the Pursuit of Perfection competition, bartenders must submit an online entry form featuring a recipe for a long or short drink inspired by their idea of perfection. Entries must be submitted by midnight on 19 April.

On Monday 3 May, 40 regional applicants will be shortlisted from the entries, with each bartender receiving information and packaging for their cocktail to be sent in for the second round.

The final, which is due to be held on 26 and 27 July, will see the 10 finalists compete in London, where they will receive an evening reception at Berry Bros & Rudd and a night in a top hotel.

The final will be judged by Alessandro Palazzi of Duke’s Bar, Bar Chick’s Hannah Grace Lodge and No.3 brand ambassador Ross Bryant.

“We are incredibly excited to launch the Pursuit of Perfection Cocktail Competition, especially with the prospect of a live final in July,” said Bryant. “The bartending community is part of No.3’s social fabric, delivering fantastic drinks and hospitality that create memorable experiences.”

The winner of the competition will receive a trip to the No.3 Gin distillery in Schiedam, the Netherlands, where they will have the chance to produce a pre-mixed cocktail with the brand’s team.

A donation of £1 (US$1.40) from each bottle sold will be given to industry charity Hospitality Action. The launch of the product will be supported by a PR and media campaign.

Bryant added: “With confirmation that the on-trade will be reopening soon, now seems the perfect time to engage with the industry and inspire creativity. Not only are we offering a fantastic prize, we’re also proud to be partnering with Hospitality Action to give back to this incredible industry.”

Berry Bros & Rudd experienced double-digit growth worldwide for No.3 Gin in 2020.
