Luxco releases Ezra Brooks 99

American spirits producer Luxco has expanded its Ezra Brooks whiskey range with the launch of a higher-ABV Bourbon.

The latest addition to the range is Ezra Brooks 99, a Kentucky straight Bourbon whiskey bottled at 49.5% ABV. The flagship Ezra Brooks Bourbon is bottled at 45% ABV.

The expression has been charcoal filtered and features the brand’s signature ‘spicy, rye Bourbon mash bill taste’, which has been ‘enhanced’ by the higher ABV.

“With Ezra Brooks 99 our goal was to create a higher-proof Bourbon without sacrificing the rich notes Ezra Brooks is known for,” said John Rempe, master distiller at Lux Row Distillers. “And we achieved that with 99. The result is a smooth, drinkable Bourbon with hints of caramel, vanilla, chocolate and spice.”

The packaging for the new Bourbon comes with a natural cork and a prominent ‘99’ printed on the label, along with the words ‘Lux Row Distillers’ embossed on the bottle’s shoulder.

“When you see Ezra Brooks 99, you’ll see an elegant, upscale bottle that stands out on the shelf,” said Eric Winter, brand manager for Ezra Brooks. “We believe the refined style and honest flavour of Ezra Brooks is amplified in Ezra Brooks 99, giving consumers of the brand even more to connect to.”

Ezra Brooks 99 is available to buy at ‘competitive’ prices across the US in a 750ml bottle from January 2021.

Old Ezra 7 Years Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon also took home the top accolade of Taste Master in the Luxury Masters 2020.

In September 2020, Kentucky-based Lux Row Distillers released a limited edition Cognac cask-finished Rebel Yell Bourbon.
