Vinexpo confirms dates for Shanghai show

Trade fair Vinexpo will host its second Shanghai show in October 2020 featuring a new digital experience for producers who are unable to travel to the event.

Vinexpo will return to the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center in October

This year’s show is due to take place at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center on 21-23 October.

Vinexpo Shanghai said it has adapted to the current climate with an area dedicated to producers who will miss the event due to restrictions in place as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. The Tasting digital area will be limited to the first 100 registrants and offers networking opportunities, as well as a chance for producers to showcase their range.

As well as the virtual Tasting area, Vinexpo Shanghai will welcome exhibitors from across the globe, including delegates from Chile – the country of honour at the 2020 exhibition.

During the event, education platform the Academy will be known as the e-Academy, showcasing digital content including masterclasses and conferences during the exhibition. Events will also be relayed across the world via Vinexpo’s digital ecosystem, which will also allow remote presentations to take place.

Vinexpo CEO, Rodolphe Lameyse, said: “Once again and more than ever, we are adapting to this very uncertain climate.

“In these challenging times, Vinexpo continues to ramp up its business opportunities and bespoke solutions to support recovery of business worldwide. Vinexpo Shanghai 2020, with this new digital solution, will mark the beginning of the recovery.”

This year’s event follows the debut of Vinexpo Shanghai, which took place in October 2019.
