Vinexpo gears up to host first Shanghai exhibition

Wine and spirits trade show Vinexpo has already sold almost 90% of the exhibition space at its inaugural event in Shanghai.

Vinexpo will hold its inaugural Shanghai show in October

Vinexpo Shanghai will take place on 23-25 October 2019 at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center (SWEECC).

The event, which will take place annually, gives Vinexpo an annual presence in China by complementing Vinexpo Hong Kong, which is held every two years.

Around 30,000 professional Chinese buyers and influencers are expected to attend the new exhibition, allowing international producers to “grow their customer portfolio and strengthen their presence in the region”.

Vinexpo Shanghai launches as wine imports continue to rise in China and are set to reach 89.7 million nine-litre cases by 2021, an increase of 23.7% in three years, according to Vinexpo.

In addition to wine producers such as Accolade, Concha Y Toro, González Byass, Sovex Grands Châteaux and Piper Heidsieck, Chinese baijiu producers including Fenjiu and Chengdu, as well as other international distillers, will showcase their products.
