Cognac Show 2020 to take place online

As trade shows and events are forced to cancel amid the covid-19 crisis, The Cognac Show will be heading online at the end of April offering a range of tastings and cocktail masterclasses.

The Cognac Show 2020 will take place online this year due to covid-19

The Cognac Show had been scheduled to take place on 24 and 25 April at Glazier’s Hall in London.

However, due to the UK lockdown, the show’s organisers have decided to turn it into a digital event rather than cancel, meaning The Cognac Show will now be able to host a global audience.

Head buyer at The Whisky Exchange Dawn Davies MW will host Cognac tasting masterclasses over the two-day online event. Those who want to take part will be able to purchase tasting sets from The Whisky Exchange website before the show and taste live with Davies.

Priced at £24.95 (US$31.17) each, sets will include Cognacs from a selection of houses, including Courvoisier, Rémy Martin and Vallein Tercinier.

Furthermore, Bar Luciole founder Cuillaume le Dorner had been due to host the cocktail bar at The Cognac Show. During the online event, he will now share some of the venue’s secrets to creating the perfect Cognac Old Fashioned, Spitfire and Sidecar cocktails.

‘Drop in sessions’ on social media will also feature various Cognac brands who would have been at the show discussing all things Cognac, the rise of their brands and future plans.

Sets can be purchased from The Whisky Exchange website. Those who buy a set will be sent a Zoom link to attend, while the session will also be aired on Facebook Live.
