The first Vinexpo Paris event took place from 10-12 February at the Paris Expo, Porte de Versailles. It was merged with Wine Paris to create a “new international landmark event” for the drinks industry.

The three-day event was attended by 29,280 trade and industry members from 126 countries. The top three countries represented were the UK, Belgium and the US. Vinexpo Paris also welcomed 2,800 exhibitors.

The show was officially opened by Didier Guillaume, French minister for agriculture and food, on Monday 10 February.

Trends and major challenges in the global spirits market and the future of French wines in the US were among some of the topics discussed during the show.

Vinexpo Paris also featured a dedicated area for spirits for the first time, called Be Spirits. The concept brought together 100 brands from 14 countries with a key feature being the 40-metre-long Infinite Bar.

The event also offered an “immersive experience” with 29 bartenders from leading Parisian bars.

For next year’s show, Vinexpo Paris and Wine Paris will look to “establish an event with even greater international scope for both exhibitors and visitors and diversify the markets represented, both nationally and internationally”.

The next Vinexpo Paris show will be held from 15 to 17 February 2021.
