Vinexpo Paris and Wine Paris combine exhibitions

The inaugural Vinexpo Paris exhibition will merge with Wine Paris next year in a bid to create a “new international landmark event” for the drinks industry.

The new combined show will allow exhibitors to “optimise their resources and benefit from an event with maximum impact”

Vinexpo Paris was initially slated to take place on 13-15 January 2020 at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. Now that the show has been combined with Wine Paris, the new joint event will be held on 10-12 February 2020, a “key time in the buying calendar”, at the same location.

With a “cohesive approach”, Vinexpo Paris and Wine Paris will offer wine and spirits stakeholders the chance to “optimise their resources and benefit from an event with maximum impact”. The enlarged exhibition will aim to draw international buyers to the French capital “at a time that is conducive to buying”.

While both Vinexpo Paris and Wine Paris will now take place simultaneously, both exhibitions will “continue to encapsulate their own inherent characteristics”, according to a joint announcement from both shows, which added that “further discussions will take place over the coming weeks”.

Wine Paris itself is the result of the merger of Mediterranean-focused Vinisud and cool climate-focused Vinovision. Its debut show in February this year was attended by 2,000 exhibitors and 26,700 trade visitors.

Established in 1981, Vinexpo now hosts exhibitions in five cities around the world – Bordeaux, Hong Kong, New York, and soon Shanghai and Paris – in addition to a “travelling event”, Vinexpo Explorer.

Its debut Paris show will highlight the distilled beverage industry through the Be Spirits initiative, described as a “show within a show” that will provide a “360-degree vision” of the international bar scene.
