ProWine Asia reschedules Singapore show to July
By Nicola CarruthersWine and spirits fair ProWine Asia will hold this year’s Singapore show in July, after it was postponed due to concerns over the coronavirus outbreak.
ProWine Asia in Singapore will now take place from 13 to 16 July 2020
Originally due to be held from 31 March to 3 April, the third ProWine Asia show was set to take place at Singapore Expo, the largest convention and exhibition venue in Singapore.
Last week, ProWine’s organisers Messe Düsseldorf Asia and Informa Markets made the decision to postpone the event.
Singapore has had a total of 91 coronavirus (Covid-19) cases as of today (26 February).
The third ProWine Asia will now take place from 13 to 16 July 2020 at Singapore Expo. It will be held alongside hospitality supplier trade show FHA-Horeca, which is organised by Food & Hotel Asia (FHA).
Beattrice J Ho, project director, ProWine Asia (Singapore), Messe Düsseldorf Asia, said: “The international showcase of wine and spirit labels with that of products and technologies serving the food and hospitality sectors, make for a dynamic pairing and an unrivalled marketplace for cross-sector contacts.”
“The national pavilions and country groups, as well as major exhibitors, have expressed commitment to returning during the new dates and to working closely with us to deliver yet another successful trade fair once again.
“We will continue to extend the necessary support to all exhibitors, partners and visitors to ensure a seamless transition and successful participation. We are confident the new dates in July will provide a highly productive business platform.”
ProWine Asia is described as the largest trade fair of its kind in the region. It will welcome around 300 exhibitors from 30 countries/regions to the show, which will feature 15 national pavilions and country groups, as well as more than 20 masterclasses and seminars.
The co-location with FHA-Horeca 2020 is expected to attract more than 48,000 trade attendees globally.
Martyn Cox, event director, hospitality, food and beverage – Singapore, Informa Markets, added: “We are pleased that ProWine Asia (Singapore) will be held alongside FHA-Horeca. From a show perspective, we believe that the addition will add a generous amount of excitement to the show floor and expand the scope for FHA-Horeca attendees.
“Beyond that, we are also pleased to once again work with Messe Düsseldorf Asia to co-organise ProWine Asia (Singapore) and look forward to further extending this harmonious partnership for many years to come.”
Visitor pre-registration for both exhibitions will re-open in April.
