Bacardi unveils 10-year-old Gran Reserva Diez

Puerto Rican rum brand Bacardi has expanded its range with the launch of Gran Reserva Diez, which has been aged for 10 years in white oak barrels.

Bacardi Gran Reserva Diez has been filtered through charcoal for “a smooth finish”. It follows the launch of Bacardi Añejo Cuatro last year.

Tine Van Nevel, brand director – Europe, for Bacardi rum, said: “We’ve observed a big shift in the rum category towards premiumisation, so the decision to grow our premium offering was an obvious one. We’re seeing that people are increasingly opting to trade up to more sophisticated drinks and are not willing to sacrifice quality for price.

“We’re excited to bring Bacardi Gran Reserva Diez to the UK where we are confident it will join Bacardi Añejo Cuatro and Bacardi Reserva Ocho as another must-have in any rum fan’s drinks cabinet.”

Bacardi Gran Reserva Diez officially launched at the Bacardi Rum Room pop-up at London Cocktail Week, which is ongoing until 13 October. The new rum will initially be stocked in 10 bars across the UK, including Trailer Happiness, London; Filthy Xiii, Bristol; Cottonopolis, Manchester; Panda & Sons, Edinburgh; and Present Company, Liverpool.

The rum will roll out to other bars later in the year and will be available to buy through select premium retailers at RRP £52 (US$63). It is currently available to order through online retailer Amazon.
