Glenfiddich Festival expands entry to global bartenders
William Grant & Sons is opening the doors of its Glenfiddich Festival Experiment next month to bartenders from across the world for the first time.
Glenfiddich Festival Experiment celebrates the on-trade
Returning for its third year, the Glenfiddich Festival Experiment was launched in 2017 for the Scottish on-trade. The event is held annually at the single malt Scotch brand’s Dufftown distillery in Speyside.
Last year, the event expanded entry to bartenders across the UK and will now welcome international visitors for the 2019 festival.
Bartenders from the US, Bulgaria, Canada, Romania, Singapore and beyond have been invited to the event. Glenfiddich brand ambassadors from South Africa, Canada and the US will help to host the celebration.
Mark Thomson, Glenfiddich’s ambassador to Scotland, said: “The on-trade community has spoken, and we listened.
“The Festival Experiment is back and we are looking forward to celebrating and thanking bartenders from not only Scotland and the wider UK, but from all four corners of the globe.
“It is going to be a festival to remember, so if you haven’t already signed up to get a ticket – get in touch. The more the merrier we say.”
The two-day festival will include headline acts such as Scottish rock band Franz Ferdinand as well as returning performer Twin Atlantic.
There will also be live performances from up-and-coming Scottish musicians, which will be revealed on Glenfiddich’s social channels in the run up to the event.
Education will also be a key focus for the festival with a live Q&A from malt master Brian Kinsman, on-site coopering demonstrations, distillery tours and tastings. The event will also feature live comedy and street food vendors.
Stephen Rutherford, brand manager at Glenfiddich, added: “There was no other option than to bring the festival back for another year and, this time, extending the invitation even further to even more supporters.
“We’re so pleased with the response we’ve received year on year and look forward to hosting everyone once again at our home in Dufftown.”
Bartenders who are interested in attending The Glenfiddich Festival Experiment #3 should contact their local Glenfiddich representative.
The Glenfiddich Festival Experiment #3 will be held from 8-10 September 2019.
