Bar world A-list to take part in first Roma Bar Show

Drinks expert Giuseppe Gallo will launch a new food and beverage trade show in Rome next month, hosting a series of talks, tastings and cocktail competitions featuring some of the best-known names in the bar world.

Roma Bar Show will include a series of talks from luminaries of the bar world

Roma Bar Show will take place on 23-24 September from 10am-9pm at Rome’s Palazzo dei Congressi.

A series of seminars are scheduled for the main stage at Auditorium Capitalis, including a talk from bartenders Simone Caporale and Marian Beke, who will explore cocktail trends and innovation.

Meanwhile, global rum ambassador Ian Burrell and rum expert Luca Gargano will delve into sugarcane, and Camille Vidal of La Maison Wellness and Martini’s Roberta Mariani will host a seminar on wellbeing and moderation.

PDT’s Jim Meehan and hospitality consultant Francesco Lafranconi will look at American cocktail culture, while Pietro Collina from NoMad NYC and
Davide Segat from The London Edition will explore hotel bars in the 21st century.

“The first ever International Roma Bar Show project was born out of a need for the industry, its businesses and those working within it, to meet and create at an Italian event with international exposure, with the aim of raising the profile of the cocktail industry in Italy,” said the organisers.

“We hope to welcome as many friends and colleagues from around the world in the eternal city for two days of cocktails, food and gioia di vivere.”

The show will encompass ‘themed areas’ such as a Mexican village showcasing agave spirits and rum. A dedicated gin area will bring together gin brands from around the world. The Terrazza del Palazzo dei Congressi will celebrate the Italian aperitivo with a series of events about amaro, vermouth and bitters.

The full programme of features and events can be found here.

The show’s founder, Giuseppe Gallo, is a renowned bartender and previously worked as the global brand ambassador for Martini. He now focuses on education and brand development as founder and director of consultancy Ital Spirits. In 2016, he launched Italicus di Rosolio Bergamotto.
