Tuppence Middleton creates Dewar’s film
To celebrate the launch of its recently unveiled Double Double range, Bacardi-owned Dewar’s has partnered with actor Tuppence Middleton to create a short film.
Written by Tuppence Middleton, Four follows a hotel manager, a couple, a dowager, and a hitman
Middleton, known for her appearances in The Imitation Game and Black Mirror, created the four-part short film, called Four, to “capture the complexity” of the new whiskies.
The film is said to be a mystery-thriller “filled with suspense and intrigue” that takes place in a hotel and features the stories of its manager, a couple, a dowager, and a hitman.
Through the course of the film, the characters’ plots, which are seemingly separate at first, come together for a “surprising and delightful finale”.
Four was directed by Jennifer Sheridan and features appearances from Iwan Rheon, Jack Farthing, Juliet Stevenson and Nicholas Pinnock.
Zeenah Vilcassim, global brand director for Dewar’s, said: “While Scotch has sometimes been perceived as traditional and conservative, Dewar’s is reinvigorating the category with new innovations like Dewar’s Double Double that nods to the pioneering spirit of the brand’s founder, Tommy Dewar.
“Our short film Four, a first for Dewar’s, not only demonstrates the brand’s timelessness within the whisky category, but cleverly captures its more premium side.”
The Dewar’s Double Double range was created in homage to the brand’s history of double ageing and features three whiskies that have each undergone a four-step maturation process.
A trailer for Four is available to watch below and the full film can be viewed across Dewar’s social channels and YouTube.
