The Tequila is the second expression in Hagar’s Santo Fino range, following the launch of the “world’s first” Tequila-mezcal hybrid in 2017 – created in collaboration with Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine.

Hagar first made a move into Tequila in 1996 when he founded the Cabo Wabo Tequila brand. He sold his stake in the brand to Campari Group in 2010 for US$11 million.

Launching in May, Santo Fino Blanco Tequila is described as an “old world-style” Tequila and is made with 100% blue weber agave.

The liquid was created in collaboration with Juan Eduardo Nuñez, third generation master distiller at El Viejito, which is located in Jalisco’s highlands. Nuñez previously helped to create Cabo Wabo Tequila and Santo Puro Mezquila.

“Guy has always been a Tequila lover and when he approached me about creating a Tequila together it was perfect timing,” said Hagar, a “long-time friend” of Fieri.

In addition to his Tequila brands, Hagar is the founder of rum brand Sammy’s Beach Bar Rum and the Sammy’s Beach Bar & Grill restaurant chain.

Fieri is known for his Food Network television shows in the US, including Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives and Grocery Games. He also has a portfolio of more than 70 restaurants including Guy Fieri’s Vegas Kitchen & Bar and El Burro Borracho in Las Vegas.
