Former Diageo marketer joins Speciality Brands

UK-based drinks agency Speciality Brands has appointed ex-Diageo marketer Kirianne Green as its first in-house head of marketing.

Kirianne Green joins Speciality Brands after 17 years at Diageo

Green will be focused on driving UK growth for the agency’s key brands, including Diplomático rum, Hine Cognac, Michter’s whiskey, Nikka whisky and Cocchi vermouth.

In her new role, Green will manage the agency’s marketing, PR and events team and lead the development and implementation of robust marketing and communications plans.

“I am very excited to be a part of the talented team at Speciality Brands, stepping up to a new challenge and chapter in my career,” said Green.

“I can see what we’re capable of with the brands in this growing portfolio, so now it’s time to get going and put 2019 plans into action. The Speciality Brands team is a group of professional but supremely passionate drinks enthusiasts – I’m in good company to deliver growth on brands that they know inside out.”

With more than 20 years of experience in the drinks industry, Green joins the business following 17 years at Diageo, most recently working in the Diageo Futures team looking at new business models and new ways to engage consumers.

Green also held positions with Diageo’s whisky innovation agenda, and worked with brands such as Haig Club.

Chris Seale, managing director of Speciality Brands, said: “I am delighted that Kirianne has joined the team. Her unique blend of operator, agency brand and strategic experience across a number of categories will be a huge benefit to Speciality Brands and our portfolio.

“Already her clear thinking and hands on approach is bringing a new quality to the way we do things.”
