Demand for British spirits has resulted in a string of new distribution deals for The London Distillery Company, which will expand to several Asian markets this year.

The London Distillery Company has appointed Drinks 99 as its exclusive distributor in Hong Kong and Macau.

Meanwhile, brand management and distribution company Brand Connect will be responsible for distributing The London Distillery Company’s spirits in six additional markets, including Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and Singapore.

The firm also noted “significant growth for its craft spirits brands in China”, particularly in Shanghai and Beijing.

To expand on this demand, the distillery intends to recruit 10 additional employees in the UK and overseas, including China. It has also appointed numerous non-executive directors to aid its growth plans.

Furthermore, The London Distillery Company is currently endeavouring to raise up to £2.5 million (US$3.2m), and forecasts its revenue will surpass £6m (US$7.7m) by 2022 “as a result of the company’s expansion plans”.

In October last year, The London Distillery Company released a four-year-old rye whiskey, which claimed to be the first London-distilled expression in more than 100 years.
