Diageo-owned Cîroc has extended its partnership with fashion house Moschino and launched a winter wonderland pop-up at Italian ski resort Cortina.

At the pop-up’s launch earlier this week, guests were able to explore the winter-themed venue, which featured a giant swing and snow globe-style domes – all given the ‘Cîroc x Moschino’ twist of bright blue hues and gold chains.

Jack Daniel’s took its Tennessee Calling III champions to New York this week, where the three winners hosted an evening of whiskey-based cocktails at famed bar The Dead Rabbit.

Alex Walker of Artesian at The Langham, Ben Alcock of HMSS/Filthy XIII and Eric Tinca of Satan’s Whiskers took over the bar’s Occasional Room to mix up their winning cocktails for New York’s discerning drinkers to enjoy.

This week, the American Bar at The Savoy in London unveiled two cocktails inspired by legendary comedy duo Laurel & Hardy.

The cocktails have been developed to celebrate the release of a new film about the duo, called Stan & Ollie.

The Stan cocktail is made with Italicus liqueur, Bacardi Heritage rum, Trois Rivières rhum agricole, Champagne syrup, coconut water, cream and egg white. Meanwhile, the Ollie cocktail contains black Craigellachie whisky, Discarded vermouth, Fernet Branca, Figaro liqueur, bitters and absinthe.

Vegan pop-up The Meet teamed up with Baileys Almande to create a number of decadent vegan treats for London’s Baileys lovers.

Using Bailey’s Almande, chef Dominic Taylor has concocted a warm and rich Bakewell tart hot chocolate which is served with a shortbread crumb rim, a dollop of Raspberry Jam, lashings of dairy free cream and shavings of vegan chocolate. The vegan pop-up has also created a Baileys Almande and ginger panna cotta.

This week, 28 teams of adventurers from 12 countries around the world set off on the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge, which challenges them to row 3,000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean.

The fleet set off from La Gomera in the Canary Islands on Wednesday (12 December) and will row to Antigua, where they hope to arrive in 30-90 days.

Fare Bar & Canteen has opened its doors in London’s Old Street and is serving up a host of innovative cocktails and small plates.

On the ground floor, imbibers can enjoy a number of wines, beers and cocktails on tap, while downstairs the lights are a little lower and the bar team is mixing up some seriously creative libations.

To celebrate the addition of Belsazar Vermouth to the Diageo Reserve portfolio, London bar Devil’s Darling has launched a month-long promotion featuring a vermouth-covered Christmas tree.

Customers can pick out a mini Belsazar bottle from the tree and take it to the bar to be made into one of five Belsazar cocktails.

Dimi Savvaidis from The King of Islington bar in Dundee was crowned the overall winner of the biennial Global Monin Cup cocktail competition.

Competing against 45 of the world’s best bartenders, Savvaidis was the first UK winner in the competition’s history. For winning, Savvaidis received €5,000 in prize money.

The competition, which is run by cocktail syrup producer Monin, is open to professional bartenders under the age of 28.

London restaurant Madison at St Paul’s hosted its first Madbrunch session this week.

The Saturday brunch session featured an all-day rooftop party, panoramic views of the city and mouth watering cocktails. The day also saw DJ Shaka and saxophonist Jamie Walker perform for guests.

On Tuesday, London Dry gin brand Bulldog hosted one final party for 2018 with new music magazine Notion.

Taking over Night Tales in London’s Hackney, imbibers were able to enjoy a number of bespoke gin cocktails in the party-ready rail arches. Drinks on offer included a hot twist on the brand’s Supersonic Gin and Tonic.
