DrinkUp London launches two new drinks festivals

London Cocktail Week organiser Drink Up London is celebrating its 10th anniversary next year with the launch of two new drinks festivals.

Drink Up London is marking 10 years since its first London Cocktail Week festival

The two new ‘mini festivals’, Scotch Whisky Weekend and Cognac Cocktail Weekend, will join Drink Up London’s existing festivals: London Wine Week, World Gin Day London Festival and Espresso Martini Festival.

To celebrate the 10-year anniversary, entry will be free to the new festivals. Customers can download festival passes from the Drink Up London site or on the app.

Held from 23-27 January 2019, the Scotch Whisky Weekend will coincide with Burns Night (25 January) and is run in partnership with Scotchwhisky.com. The event will celebrate “the best places to drink whisky in London” and will showcase Burns Night events across London.

Select venues will serve £6 cocktails and/or a £6 whisky flight during the Scotch Whisky Weekend festival.

Drink Up London will also extend its flagship event, London Cocktail Week, from seven days to 10 days next year. It will run from 4-13 October 2019 and “pay homage to the best bits of London Cocktail Week over the last decade”.

Managing director and founder of Drink Up London, Hannah Sharman-Cox, said: “Ten years is a significant milestone for us, we are extremely proud that our hard work has paid off, and we continue to be relevant to the huge number of cocktail lovers we attract to our festivals, events and website.”

Director of festivals for Drink Up London Siobhan Payne added: “It’s very exciting for us to be adding more events to the Drink Up calendar in our 10th year, supporting our partnering venues and encouraging consumers to be more discerning about what they drink.”
