Dartmouth Distilling Co joins The Wine & Spirits Show

Devon-based Dartmouth Distilling Company will be bringing its English gin to The Wine & Spirits Show this month.

Dartmouth English Gin will be on pour at The Wine & Spirits Show in London

Taking place on 12 and 13 October at The Royal Horseguards Hotel in London, The Wine & Spirits Show is a collaboration between The Spirits Business and the drinks business teams.

Over the course of the two days, the event will bring leading wine and spirits brands together for an exciting programme of discussion, tasting and learning.

The Wine & Spirits Show will encompass two halls – one dedicated to wine and one to spirits – and will feature a number of masterclasses for the trade and consumers.

The event will feature drinks producers from around the world and will also shine a light on UK brands, such as The Lakes Distillery and the Dartmouth Distillery Company.

South Devon-based Dartmouth Distillery Company was founded in 2015 by Lance and Caroline Whitehead.

It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Calancombe Estate Holdings, which owns a 23-acre vineyard in South Devon, producing sparkling and still wines.

Dartmouth Distillery Company produces gin and fruit-based spirits. At the show, the firm will be showcasing its Dartmouth English Gin, which is made with botanicals, herbs, flowers, and fruit from the estate along with fresh spring water.

The “smooth and full-bodied” gin is described as having floral notes of rosemary, lavender and citrus fruits. Grains of paradise, cardamom and cubeb berries bring “lively spice” followed by a lasting finish.

The company is hoping to gain distribution in the UK by the end of 2019.

Guests will also have the opportunity to explore some of the industry’s newest and most cutting-edge brands in the New Products Zone, which will feature exhibitors such as birch spirit Freya and Australian distillery Four Pillars’ Bloody Shiraz Gin expression.

Stay tuned for a list of free-to-attend masterclasses and seminars, which will be announced shortly.

The trade will be welcome from 1-5pm on Friday. The event will open to consumers from 1-9pm on Friday and 12-8pm on Saturday.
