Mangrove launches Montelobos Ensamble mezcal
UK-based drinks distribution agency Mangrove Global has expanded its mezcal range with the launch of Montelobos Ensamble.
Montelobos Ensamble is the latest release from the Mexican spirits producer
The latest expression from Montelobos Mezcal has been created by distiller Iván Saldaña Oyarzábal, alongside agave farmer, Don Aarón Alva.
Montelobos Ensamble, which is produced in the town of San Nicolás Huajuapan, Mexico, is produced with 100% cultivated agave from three plant varieties – including papalote, espadín and tobalá.
Stuart Fritz, marketing director of Mangrove, said: “The introduction of this unique expression utilising papalote, espadín and tobalá reinforces Montelobos’ commitment to sustainability, quality and innovation.
“We’re delighted to offer Ensamble to mezcal aficionados across the UK and to continue to support the unparalleled craft of Montelobos.”
Bottled at 45.3% abv, Montelobos Endamble is said to “offer an explosion of contrasting flavours such as pink peppercorn, chamomile, and apple confit”. Its body and acidity are said to contain smoke and fruit notes.
Last month, Jack Daniel’s owner Brown-Forman named Mangrove Global as its UK distributor for its Scotch whisky portfolio, which includes the BenRiach, GlenDronach and Glenglassaugh brands.
