Mangrove to handle Brown-Forman Scotch whiskies
BenRiach owner Brown-Forman has appointed Mangrove Global to distribute its Scotch whisky portfolio in the UK.
Starting this month (August), UK distribution of BenRiach, GlenDronach and Glenglassaugh Scotch whisky brands will be controlled by Mangrove Global, which also distributes Brown-Forman spirits including Herradura Tequila and Early Times Bourbon.
Nick Gillett, managing director of Mangrove, said: “Mangrove is extremely honoured to be tasked with growing the Brown-Forman Scotch whisky portfolio. Our expertise in growing premium brands within the UK market marries perfectly with expertise involved at the distilleries in creating these amazing liquids.
“Both Brown-Forman and ourselves recognise the importance of the existing loyal customer base and we look forward to working with them to help grow the business together.”
To support the distribution partnership in the UK, the Jack Daniel’s brand owner has appointed Danny Whelan as Scotch whisky business development manager for On-Trade UK. Whelan, who previously worked on the Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey team, has also worked in some of the UK’s most prestigious cocktail bars and on a number of global on-trade activations.
Jeremy Shepherd, Brown-Forman VP general manager UK, said: “We are delighted that Mangrove Global is distributing a selection of both our limited edition and core ranges of Highland and Speyside whiskies across the UK for whisky lovers to enjoy.
“This partnership will be supported by the talented Danny Whelan coming across from our Jack Daniel’s team who will further develop relationships with the UK bar community on behalf of our Scotch portfolio.”
Brown-Forman purchased The BenRiach Company in 2016, which comprises the three Scotch whisky brands.
