Wine & Spirits Show announces additional spirits exhibitors

The Spirits Business and the drinks business have revealed the first spirits exhibitors for the inaugural Wine & Spirits Show in October.

The first Wine & Spirits Show will take place at the five-star Royal Horseguards Hotel

Launched in collaboration between the two magazines, the event will take place on 12 and 13 October at The Royal Horseguards Hotel in London.

Over the course of the two days, The Wine & Spirits Show will bring leading wine and spirits brands together for an exciting programme of discussion, tasting and learning.

The Wine & Spirits Show will encompass two halls – one dedicated to wine and one to spirits – and will feature a number of masterclasses for the trade and consumers.

Masterclasses will be free to attend on a first-come first-served basis, with the full list to be announced soon.

The Spirits Hall will feature exciting new products including Scotch whisky, gin, Tequila and rum. This hall will also host The Spirits Masters Zone, which will be manned by The Spirits Business team and showcase the Spirits Masters competition medallists.

Each hall will feature a dedicated New Products Zone, allowing visitors to taste the latest products from the last 12 months.

Attendees will also be asked to vote for their favourite new wine and spirit to be in with a chance of winning a prize. Winning brands will receive a profile page in both magazines to celebrate their success.

Amber Glen Scotch Whisky

Blended Scotch brand Amber Glen has been expertly crafted from a secret recipe of the uisge beatha (uishkay vhar) that is handed down the ages to Scotland’s top master blenders.

Bottled at 40% abv, the whisky is made up of 20% selected vatted single malt whiskies and 80% finest single grain whisky.

It is described as having a “clean, crisp aroma with hints of vanilla giving way to a mellow taste with sweet richness”.

Bolney’s Rosso Vermouth

English wine maker Bolney’s entered the ever-growing vermouth category this year with the launch of Bolney’s Rosso Vermouth.

Created by Sam Linter, managing director and head winemaker at Bolney Wine Estate, and fellow winemaker Alex Rabagliati, Bolney’s Rosso Vermouth is an aromatised and fortified wine distilled with botanicals including sloes and elderberries.

The expression – thought to be the first rosso vermouth from Sussex – uses Bolney’s surplus grape juice, ensuring nothing is wasted during the wine-making process.

It has a flavour profile of “floral herb, eucalyptus notes and the classic aroma of wormwood”.

Horse Guards London Dry Gin

A London Dry-style gin that fittingly has a name worthy of our venue.

The Horse Guards London Dry Gin is made using a combination of juniper, coriander, angelica, orange peel, grapefruit peel and cardamom.

The inspiration for the name comes from Britain’s Horse Guards formed by King Charles II back in 1661, as well as the extraordinary characters from the regiment over the years.

Horse Guards London Dry Gin was founded in July 2017. At the company’s stand, guests will be able to enjoy samples and perfect serves. The firm is aiming to secure distribution deals with supermarkets by next year.

Código 1530 Rose Tequila

Código 1530 Tequila tapped into the trend for pink with the launch of its new Rosa expression in August last year.

Código’s Rosa Tequila, a blanco Tequila aged for four weeks in uncharred Napa Cabernet barrels, has “subtle floral notes” reminiscent of the red grape variety.

The new rose-tinted Tequila joins the range, which includes Blanco, Reposado, Añejo, and Origen.

Orkney Gin Rhubarb Old Tom

Orkney Gin Company launched an Old Tom-style gin, called Rhubarb Old Tom, in August last year.

The gin is a ‘celebration of rhubarb’, a plant that thrives in the Orcadian climate and can be found growing across the archipelago.

Bottled at 43% abv, Rhubarb Old Tom is described as a “perfect” balance of Orcadian rhubarb and Croatian juniper, complemented by “cinnamon and Seville orange peel”.
