Double Dutch joins The Wine & Spirits Show

Innovative mixer brand Double Dutch has signed up as the exclusive tonic sponsor for the upcoming Wine & Spirits Show in London.

Double Dutch uses food-pairing techniques to devise its acclaimed flavour combinations

Taking place on 12 and 13 October at The Royal Horseguards Hotel in London, the event has been launched in collaboration between The Spirits Business and the drinks business magazines.

Double Dutch will host a stand in the show’s spirits hall and will act as the exclusive tonic sponsor of the event.

The premium, low-calorie mixer line was launched by Dutch twins Raissa and Joyce de Haas in 2015.

The award-winning range of classic and flavoured mixers is inspired by molecular gastronomy and aims to complement the flavours of gin and other spirits.

Speaking to The Spirits Business last year about the launch of the company, Raissa de Haas said: “When we began to develop Double Dutch, we came across a molecular technique of flavour pairing, which was really the turning point in the process. We found that we wanted to experiment with different flavours and ingredients but didn’t want to be limited to what the industry had already done.

“We were determined to find a method that is in line with the time and effort that distilleries put into finding their perfectly-balanced spirit. That made us work with food-pairing techniques in the end.

“By doing so we were able to create mixers that really enhance the flavours of higher quality spirits rather than being too overpowering.”

Double Dutch’s range currently consists of an Indian tonic water, soda water, skinny tonic water, ginger beer and three flavour combinations: Pomegranate & Basil, Cucumber & Watermelon, and Cranberry & Ginger Tonic Water.
