Chabot Armagnac unveils first single cask

Chabot Armagnac has launched a limited edition Single Cask 1998 Vintage exclusively for Duty Zero by CDF stores.

Chabot Armagnac Single Cask 1998 Vintage is available at Hong Kong International Airport

The new expression, which is the brand’s first single cask, is limited to 210 bottles and is bottled at 42.5% abv.

Chabot Armagnac Single Cask 1998 Vintage is described as having a “complex nose” with an aroma of fresh mangos, stewed apples and dried apricots.

The palate is said to have hints of peppermint and fruit, followed by an “extremely fruity, intense and long” finish.

The bottling is presented in a lined wooden box with a certificate of authenticity and tasting notes.

Duty Zero is a collaboration between China Duty Free Group and Lagardère Travel Retail. It operates eight liquor and tobacco stores in Hong Kong International Airport.

The offering has been created to celebrate the airport’s 20th anniversary.

Chabot Armagnac president Kathleen Gentzbourger said: “We’re delighted to be partnering with Duty Zero by CDF with this very special anniversary vintage.

“It’s a first for us, so very exciting to be celebrating 20 years of the stunning Hong Kong International Airport with an equally remarkable single cask vintage.

“This new venture for us – a single cask – is something that we are extremely eager to develop with our retail partners. We have enough vintage stock levels of various years to be able to create bespoke products that are both exclusive to the channel and the retailer.”
