Johnnie Walker Triple Cask launches in travel retail

Diageo has launched a new travel retail exclusive expression of Johnnie Walker Black Label aged in casks that previously held Scotch, Bourbon and rum.

Johnnie Walker Black Label Triple Cask uses whisky matured in three different cask types

Johnnie Walker Black Label Triple Cask Edition is made from spirit that has aged in casks that previously held American bourbon, Scotch whisky and Caribbean pot still rum.

The bottling, developed by Johnnie Walker master blender Jim Beveridge and blender Chris Clark, contains malt and grain whisky distilled at Cardhu and Cameronbridge.

It will be exclusively available from travel retail stores operated by Dufry and will be distributed in more than 300 locations worldwide.

Roger Jackson, commercial director Europe and Middle East of Diageo Global Travel, said: “We’re delighted to release Johnnie Walker Black Label Triple Cask Edition as part of an exclusive partnership with Dufry stores.

“Shoppers are set to be inspired and excited by the in store tasting opportunities and knowledgeable staff who will explore the creation of this brilliant new blend with whisky fans.”

Bottled at 40% abv, Johnnie Walker Black Label Triple Cask carries a recommended retail price of £28 (US$37) per one-litre bottle.

Brand owner Diageo recently unveiled the latest ‘Keep Walking’ campaign for the blended Scotch brand, designed to celebrate how whisky brings people together.
