Martini cycling festival promotes fitness in bartenders
By Owen BellwoodItalian drinks brand Martini is celebrating 50 years of Martini Racing with the launch of a new cycling programme to promote health and fitness for bartenders.
Participating bartenders will cycle from Milano to TorinoThe Martini Racing Ciclismo aims to build on the success of last year’s Milano Torino cycling event and hopes to provide a platform of support for bartenders to train together.
The programme of cycling activations will include gym memberships, bespoke spinning classes, organised rides and nutritional advice, all exclusively available to bartenders.
Bartenders from across select European markets will also be invited to take part in a summer of coordinated training sessions, in preparation for a ride from Milano to Torino – in honour of classic Italian cycling race La Classica.
Roberta Mariani, Martini global ambassador, said: “The 2017 Milano Torino cycle ride was an incredible success; we have had so much positive feedback from the 45 bartenders who took part that we just knew we had to build something much bigger.
“We are incredibly excited to now announce Martini Racing Ciclismo as a dynamic new component of Martini Racing; an entire platform that not only supports bartenders in embracing a healthy lifestyle by challenging them physically, but also brings them together.”
As part of the greater Martini Racing Ciclismo platform, activities such as bartender exclusive spin classes, gym memberships and bartender cycling rides could also be scheduled across the European market.
Giles Ritchie, global F1 sponsorship manager for Martini Racing, said: “I’m delighted that we are celebrating our 50th birthday by launching Martini Racing Ciclismo, which shines a spotlight once more on a sport so beloved by the brand.
“Having taken part in last year’s ride from Milano to Torino, I experienced the great physical challenge, passion and sense of camaraderie amongst the bartenders who took part.”
