Johnnie Walker teases Game of Thrones whisky
Diageo’s blended Scotch whisky brand Johnnie Walker is set to become a White Walker from the hit HBO series Game of Thrones this autumn.
White Walker by Johnnie Walker is scheduled for release this autumn
The blended Scotch whisky brand released a teaser video on its social media platforms last week giving away few details apart from the name – White Walker by Johnnie Walker.
Whether the White Walker bottle will contain a new Johnnie Walker recipe, however, remains to be seen.
The short clip was published on Johnnie Walker’s Twitter and Facebook pages, and ends with the tag line: “Scotch is coming,” a play on the famous Game of Thrones line: “Winter is coming.”
The video features the Johnnie Walker striding man logo across a frosty background, reimagined as a White Walker, one of the zombie-like villains from the show. The final season of Game of Thrones is scheduled to air in 2019.
A spokesperson for Diageo said: “Scotch is coming to the realm in the fall of 2018. HBO and Diageo have partnered to create White Walker by Johnnie Walker. We look forward to sharing more details in the coming months.”
Last month, Johnnie Walker unveiled a female-inspired iteration of its Johnnie Walker Black Label, called the Jane Walker Edition.
