Bar Convent Brooklyn announces seminars

Bar Convent Berlin’s first international expansion, Bar Convent Brooklyn, has revealed the seminar schedule for its June event.

The first Bar Convent Brooklyn show will be held on 12-13 June 2018

Bar Convent Brooklyn will be held on 12-13 June at the Brooklyn Expo Center. Organiser Reed Exhibitions announced plans to launch the US show last year, with a focus on premium ‘craft’ brands.

At the show, visitors will have the opportunity to network with the on-trade and drinks industry professionals and learn about new trends, techniques and products.

Attendees will also be able to experience taste forums, demonstrations, keynote addresses and panel discussions with leading industry experts such as Bobby Heugel, Christy Pope, Claire Smith-Warner, David Wondrich, Julie Reiner, Kara Newman, Susan Fedroff, Tim Etherington-Judge, Kit Codik, and Thomas Hansen.

On Tuesday 12 June, ‘A New Way to Cost, Calculating Your Menu’s Carbon Footprint’ will be held by Chad Arnholtd and Claire Sprouse, while Etherington Judge and Warner-Smith will host ‘How to be a better bartender’.

The following day will see a ‘Hospitality Media Panel’ held by Angus Winchester, Paul Clarke, Kara Newman, and other guests. While Julia Momose will hostSpirit Free – the deliberate approach to non alcoholic cocktails’.

“In Europe, Bar Convent has proved to be the B2B event for connecting the global beverage industry with bartenders as well as food and beverage pros from all over the world. Now, we are going to focus on the American market,” said Petra Lassahn, director of Reed Exhibitions Deutschland.

“The New York metropolitan area has the highest concentration of bartenders in the country, making it an ideal location for professionally sampling alcohol as a semi-luxury. We are looking forward to the first edition of Bar Convent Brooklyn in June 2018.”
