Casamigos joins Diageo Reserve portfolio in Europe

Casamigos Tequila and the brand’s upcoming mezcal will be distributed across Europe as part of the Diageo Reserve portfolio from 1 May.

Casamigos Tequila and mezcal range will be distributed across Europe under the Diageo Reserve portfolio

Following Diageo’s acquisition of Casamigos last year, the brand’s Tequila and soon-to-be-released mezcal will be distributed across Europe under its Reserve portfolio.

The Tequila brand was founded by Rande Gerber alongside actor George Clooney and Mike Meldman in 2013. Diageo completed its acquisition of the brand in August last year in a deal worth up to US$1 billion.

Casamigos has been one of the fastest growing Tequila brands, surpassing 200,000 cases in 2017 and boasting a compound annual growth rate of 54% over the last two years.

Tanya Clarke, general manager for Europe from Diageo Reserve, said: “We are really looking forward to building the Casamigos brand in key cities and resorts across Europe and have enjoyed already working with the founders to leverage their significant experience in winning within this high growth luxury Tequila segment.”

Casamigos recently announced that it would be launching its joven (blanco) mezcal expression in 750ml bottles in the US, priced at US$59.99. The mezcal, bottled at 40% abv, will also be made available in one-litre formats in the US, Canada, Australia and the UK.
