Partridges launches royal wedding gin

To celebrate the upcoming wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, London-based grocery store Partridges has launched a bergamot-infused London Dry gin.

The No.2 Chelsea Flower Gin marks the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

Partridges will commemorate the royal wedding, set to take place on 19 May, with the launch of its No.2 Chelsea Flower Gin.

The gin, created in collaboration with Dunnet Bay Distillers, has been described as “elegant, indulgent and rounded with body and freshness”.

Besides notes of bergamot, the expression has hints of citrus, coriander, lemon tart and vanilla.

It is recommended served with ice, cold Partridges Earl Grey Tea infused with honey, tonic water, and garnished with a slice of bergamot or lime.

The gin follows the launch of Partridges’ first expression, Chelsea Flower Gin, in May last year – created in celebration of the grocer’s 45th anniversary.

Chelsea Flower Gin is available in Partridges’ two central London stores in Duke of York Square, Chelsea and Gloucester Road, Kensington and online for an RRP of £29.95 for a 500ml bottle.

Pubs, bars and restaurants will stay open until 1am on the weekend of the royal wedding, after the UK government made the decision to relax licensing hours.
