Patent Pending, New York

Housed in the building formerly inhabited by renowned American inventor Nikola Tesla, Patent Pending aims to honour those individuals who “think outside the box”.

Part-cafe part-speakeasy, Patent Pending is full of teal leather booths and Edison light bulbs, as well as an eclectic list of house cocktails, including the AC/DC, which combines Blanche Armagnac with genever, peach, fennel, lemon and egg white.

Jidori has opened a new central London venue in Covent Garden, offering guests a range of Japanese small plates as well as a list of Asian beers, sake and cocktails.

The new venue also offers a private karaoke room, which can seat up to 12 people, features a communal dining table and offers more than 8000 songs for guests to sing their hearts out to.

Coctail Bar Max & Dom Whisky, Warsaw

At the bar’s opening, the Ambassador of Cuba and his wife visited the bar to see their extensive range of Cuban rums.

Spread Eagle, the newly opened venue in London, claims to be the capital’s first fully vegan pub.

Boasting a range of vegan and organic wines, 16 rotating vegan beers and a range of vegan cocktails, the pub combines its stellar drinks list with a vegan food menu and all vegan furnishings – no leather in here.

Food at the Spread Eagle comes from Club Mexicana, which brings its vegan Mexican street food to the London pub.

Banzarbar, New York

Banzarbar has opened in New York above Freemans restaurant and takes its inspiration from historical Antarctic expeditions.

Inspired by the 20th century adventures of the British Australian and New Zealand Antarctic Research Expedition, Banzarbar offers a range of regular cocktails, as well as a five-course low-abv drinks tasting menu.

The two-hour tasting experience comes with five low-abv cocktails, each paired with a small appetiser.

London’s first dedicated Prosecco bar has opened its doors on the banks of the River Thames.

Prosecco House stocks Prosecco from five vineyards not currently available in the UK and offers more than 20 varieties of Prosecco from the Marchiori, Rivalta, Cirotto, TASI Bio and Andreola wineries.

As well as Prosecco by the glass, Prosecco House also offers a small selection of Prosecco cocktails, including Aperol Spritz, Bellini and some of its own creations.

Origin Bar, Singapore

Located in the Tower Wing at The Shangri-La hotel, Origin Bar has been inspired by its own heritage, aiming to transport drinkers through the history of Singapore.

The cocktail menu transports drinkers through five key districts of Singapore: Orchard, Chinatown, Little India, Boat Quay and Marina Bay, and includes show-stopping creations, such as The Pearl – an “experimental” drink that uses silken tofu, elderflower, Black Forest Gin and barley shochu.

20 Stories, Manchester

Manchester’s highest bar opened its doors in February, boasting panoramic views of the Northern city.
