Glasgow Distillery inks deal with Halewood

The Glasgow Distillery has signed a UK distribution deal with Halewood Wines & Spirits for its Makar gin and G52 Urban Craft Vodka brands.

Halewood Wines and Spirits will now take on the distribution of Makar gin

The Glasgow Distillery is the city’s first independent distillery since 1902 and this new deal will see its Makar Gin and G52 Urban Vodka brands distributed in the UK on- and off-trade.

Liam Hughes, CEO and co-founder of The Glasgow Distillery Company, said: “We’ve been looking for the right distribution partner for a number of years and a few of us were familiar with the exceptional work ethic and methods of Halewood’s team.

“Working with Halewood gives us an exciting opportunity to widen the net and deliver our products to the UK and Ireland in both the on- and off-trade.”

The Glasgow Distillery joins the Halewood portfolio of ‘craft’ and small batch spirits, such as Liverpool Gin, City of London Distillery and Dead Man’s Fingers rum.

John Bradbury, UK managing director at Halewood Wines & Spirits, said: “With the addition of Makar Gin into our portfolio, we are fast becoming the go-to premium craft gin distributor in the country.”

The independent distillery recently unveiled 1770 Scotch whisky – the first single malt created at an independent Glasgow distillery for more than 100 years
