Former Stoli Group CEO moves to Gruppo Montenegro

Italian spirits manufacturer Gruppo Montenegro has named former Stoli Group CEO Robert Cullins as its regional director of North America.

In his new role, Cullins will lead the development of the company’s marketing, investment and distribution strategies in North America.

Cullins said: “I am thrilled to join Gruppo Montenegro at this critical juncture to develop new strategies and expand our success across North America.

“I’m eager to join US market manager Marco Montefiori, Montenegro portfolio managers Gianni Aslo and Elliot Montero, as well as our distribution partner Total Beverage Solution as we continue to fuel momentum for the brand’s portfolio.”

Cullins brings more than three decades of international spirits industry experience to Gruppo Montenegro’s North American operations.

As well as his most recent work with the luxury vodka brand, Cullins has served in a variety of roles for leading global spirits companies, including Maxxium, Southern Wines and Spirits, and Diageo, where he managed premium brands including Macallan, Rémy Martin, Johnnie Walker and Tanqueray.

Marco Ferrari, CEO of Gruppo Montenegro, said: “Rob’s experience and leadership at the helm of our brands in North America will drive the achievements and successes we’ve set out to accomplish.”

Cullins’ position with Gruppo Montenegro is effective immediately and he will initially be based in South Florida.

Cullins acted as CEO of Stoli group until 2016 when he left the vodka producer and became a global spirits advisor at Perfect Brands Capital Partners.
