Travel Retail Domodedovo to open new duty free store

Russian company Travel Retail Domodedovo, a joint venture between Gebr. Heinemann and Greenway, will become the exclusive duty-free retailer at Domodedovo Airport’s new terminal.

The retail space will open at Domodedovo Airport’s new terminal this year

The joint venture will open a new 7,000 square metre retail space at Moscow’s second largest airport when the new terminal opens later this year.

Travel Retail Domodedovo’s (TRD) new store will comprise a large main area in the form of a walk-through shop directly behind the security checkpoint

Oleg Zhytomyrsky, director of sales Russia/CIS at Gebr. Heinemann, said: “Over the years, TRD has established itself as a reliable and competent duty free operator. We will continue to expand this competence in the coming years and present a comprehensive and varied range of duty free products to passengers at Domodedovo Airport.

“We are delighted at winning this tender, which is a great confirmation of our entrepreneurial commitment in Russia.”

The venture between the two travel retail companies was founded in 2007 and currently operates two duty free shops and three duty paid shops.

The new duty free store will offer products including perfume, cosmetics, liquor, tobacco and confectionery.

Travel retail operator Gebr. Heinemann recently signed a deal with Carnival Cruise Line, marking its entry into the American and Australasian cruise market.
