Lakes Distillery records 472% sales uplift

Cumbria’s The Lakes Distillery has experienced a 472% sales increase over the past 12 months, in line with a huge uptick in its online traffic.

E-commerce is now a key priority for The Lakes Distillery

Between October 2016 and October 2017, The Lakes Distillery’s online traffic grew 939%, helped by a new partnership with e-commerce agency Visualsoft.

In the 12 months to November 2017, online sessions and revenue were up 568% and 354% respectively.

Karen Ripley, head of e-commerce at The Lakes Distillery, said: “We are putting online activity at the heart of our business model – it gives us global scale.

“We have massive ambitions the future of the English whisky market, and we need partners that will enable us to deliver that vision.”

To increase its online engagement, The Lakes Distillery has worked with Visualsoft to create seasonal campaigns highlighting its new liqueurs line, spirit-filled Christmas baubles and £1 million crowdfunding drive.

The distillery raised more than £1.7m of its initial target.
