Boutique-y whisky range goes up for auction

A near-complete collection of 298 bottles from That Boutique-y Whisky Company could fetch up to £50,000 ($US65k) at a Catawiki online auction this week.

The Boutique-y Whisky Company’s largest known collection goes under the hammer this week

The collection, which is the largest known of its kind, represents a near-complete set of bottles from the company since it’s founding in 2012.

In total, there are around 100 different distilleries represented by the auction. One bottle of “particular note” is a seven-year-old Speyburn expression – the first one litre bottle from That Boutique-y Whisky Company.

Supersplendiferous Speyburn Single Malt is the company’s 100th product and features a hand-painted gold detailing on the label.

The range also includes bottlings from Port Ellen, Loch Lomond, Lagavulin, The Macallan and Springbank.

The independent company has released 100 different whiskies from around the world, including single malts, blended malts, single grains, and blended whiskies.

Last month, a rare miniature bottle of Laphroaig Scotch whisky that a Glasgow couple was planning to throw in the bin fetched £830 (US$1,100) at auction.
