Penderyn reveals new design for Madeira Finish

26th October, 2017 by Michael J Ritchie

Welsh distillery Penderyn has launched a new bottle design for its Madeira Finish Single Malt Whisky, featuring iconic symbols of Wales.

The new bottle features iconic symbols of Wales, including the dragon and the harp

The bottle was designed by Glenn Tutssel, Penderyn director and has been in the works for two years.

The design features the Aur Cymru Welsh gold logo, and symbols of a dragon, a harp and three feathers, all of which have been icons of Wales “since medieval times”.

“We had great success with our previous bottle, which was quite understated. Now we have a wonderful and dynamic new bottle to match the exciting award-winning whiskies we produce,” said Stephen Davies, chief executive of Penderyn.

The new-look Madeira Finish Single Malt Whisky will be rolled out in November as the first in the Gold range. The following three expressions Peated, Portwood and Sherrywood will follow in early 2018.

Earlier this year, Penderyn was awarded two gold medals at the World Whisky Masters 2017.
