Lakes Distillery to open Christmas pop-up store

The Lakes Distillery and County Durham’s The Pip Stop have teamed up to open their first joint retail store in time for Christmas.

The Spirit of Christmas baubles saw a spike in sales after going viral online.

The pop-up store will be based at the Metrocentre, Gateshead and will offer “artisan craft beverages, including The Lakes award-winning spirits portfolio, local and national craft beer, seasonal gifting and delicious wines handpicked by the Pip Stop”.

It will open on 1 November and be open every day until 31 January, excluding Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Expected to be a big seller are The Lake Distillery’s Spirit of Christmas baubles. The baubles come in two sizes – 5cl and 20cl – and are filled with spirits.

The Lakes Distillery has also created Christmas crackers and a “range of branded glassware” that will be available at the pop-up store.

The Lake Distillery’s full portfolio of spirits, including The ONE British Isles Blended Whisky, The Lakes Salted Caramel Vodka and The Lakes Gin will all be available.

This summer, Cumbria-based The Lakes Distillery added three new liqueurs to its portfolio.
