Aldi launches sloe gin-flavoured mince pies
Supermarket chain Aldi has combined two Christmas food and drink favourites with the launch of sloe gin-flavoured mince pies.
Aldi is getting into the Christmas spirit with gin-infused mince pies
Aldi’s ‘Specially Selected Sloe Gin Mince Tarts’ are said to offer a “sophisticated alternative” to more traditional mince pies. The mincemeat and sloe gin filling has a “flaked almond topping”.
Aldi’s wider selection of Specially Selected Mince Pies also offer a slight boozy edge, with a filling that includes “sweetened dried cranberries infused with Cognac”.
Joint managing director of corporate buying at Aldi UK, Julie Ashfield, said: “At Aldi we know that Christmas hasn’t really started until you’ve had your first mince pie. This year’s mince pie offering is better than ever, with more than one different premium flavour for each day of the week.”
The sloe gin mince pies will be available from 14 November for £2.29 for a pack of 6.
The Lakes Distillery has also got into the festive spirit with a range of baubles filled with gin, whisky and vodka.
