Bombay Sapphire appoints Dr Anne Brock as master distiller

Bacardi has named Gin Guild director and lead distiller at Bermondsey Gin Dr Anne Brock as Bombay Sapphire’s master distiller.

Dr Brock will lead a team of distillers at the Bombay Sapphire distillery at Laverstoke Mill

Dr Brock joins Bacardi after four years as lead distiller at Bermondsey Distillery, which produces Jensen’s Gin.

Educated at Oxford University, she achieved a PhD in Organic Chemistry from St Catherine’s college and currently holds a position on the board of directors at the Gin Guild.

“I am extremely proud to be joining Bombay Sapphire and to be representing such an iconic leader of the gin category,” said Dr Brock.

“As an individual who is incredibly passionate about gin, I look forward to working with a team who share a drive to push boundaries and innovate.”

Working alongside Bombay Sapphire’s master of botanicals, Ivano Tonutti, Dr Brock will be responsible for the production of Bombay Sapphire – including fulfilling global demand for the gin.

She will lead a team of 14 distillers at the Bombay Sapphire distillery at Laverstoke Mill in Hampshire, England.

Jo Botwood, global brand director, Bombay Sapphire, added: “At Bombay Sapphire, we are committed to excellence and pioneering the gin category, and we are delighted to welcome Dr Anne Brock who shares in our vision and will help us continue to lead the category.

“Anne is a well-known and much-respected member of the wider gin community, and her knowledge and technical experience will no doubt be put to good use in her role as master distiller.”
