Bars sign up for inaugural Edinburgh Cocktail Weekend
By Nicola CarruthersMore than 40 bars in the Scottish city of Edinburgh are set to take part in the first-ever Edinburgh Cocktail Weekend this October.
Wristband holders can visit 40 of the city’s top bars for £4 signature cocktails
The capital’s top cocktail bars, which include Harvey Nichols, Tigerlily, The Printing Press, Copper Blossom, Epicurean, Le Monde, Badger & Co and The Refinery, will showcase their signature cocktails at the festival, each available at £4 for wristband holders.
Consumers can also register for free masterclasses and tastings, with registration opening four weeks before the event, and priority registration being given to those who have already bought a wristband.
A full list with images of each bar’s signature cocktail will also be announced.
“After six months of taste-testing we are thrilled to finally reveal the bars that we have chosen to take part in the first Edinburgh Cocktail Weekend,” said organiser Gary Anderson. “Our vision is to bring the city to life with cocktails and create unique experiences through exciting brand collaborations and pop-up spaces.
“It’s all about tasting your way around the city, discovering new bars and flavours, and feeling like you’re part of something exciting.”
Wristbands can be purchased online and can then be collected from the Edinburgh Cocktail Weekend Hub on George Street during the event.
Edinburgh Cocktail Weekend is held from 6–8 October. Earlybird wristbands are on sale online for £5 or two for £9.50 until 30 June.
The festival joins other first-time events in the Scottish city’s cocktail calendar including Edinburgh Cocktail Festival, which will take place from 4-28 August.
