Slingsby sponsors Lions tour
Yorkshire-based spirits brand Slingsby has entered into its “biggest” partnership to date – a sponsorship deal with rugby team the British and Irish Lions.
Slingsby has been named an official supplier of the British and Irish Lions
As part of the deal, Slingsby will become the exclusive gin and vodka supplier to the rugby team’s summer tour of New Zealand.
Slingsby Gin and Vodka will be supplied across all of the official Lions tour events both before the party leaves the Northern Hemisphere and whilst they are travelling throughout New Zealand in June and July.
The brand will also offer Lions fans the opportunity to purchase a collector’s edition gin that pays tribute to the tour, called The Lions Gin – Tour Edition.
Featuring the liquid from Slingsby Navy Strength gin, the Tour Edition design will include the Lions crest against a Lions red background.
The limited edition gin will be available to purchase online from 28 May, ahead of the tour party’s departure.
“The partnership is a perfect fit for Slingsby. Like the Lions, we seek to do things differently and look to follow a similar ethos to the Lions. We are extremely proud of who we are but we also celebrate and respect others that we play against,” said Marcus Black co-founder and joint managing director of Spirit of Harrogate.
British and Irish Lions chief operating officer Charlie McEwen said:“Spirit of Harrogate supporting the tour is a valuable and important relationship for us and we are really excited about the events both here and in New Zealand that Slingsby will be available at for our guests and touring party.”
The 2017 British & Irish Lions kick off their 10-match tour of New Zealand on Saturday 3 June in Whangarei and culminates with three Test matches against the All Blacks starting on 23 June.
