‘No impact’ on Moët Hennessy ownership after LVMH buys Dior
The takeover of French luxury goods company Christian Dior by LVMH will not impact the ownership of Moët Hennessy, The Spirits Business has learned.
Rumours that Diageo is looking to buy the remaining stake in Moët Hennessy have circled for years
Earlier this week LVMH took full control of 70-year-old Parisian fashion house Christian Dior in a US$13.1 billion deal, reigniting interest in the potential for Diageo to fully acquire Moët Hennessy.
Diageo owns 34% of the company alongside majority owner LVMH, which owns the remaining 66%. Rumours that Diageo is looking to buy the remaining stake have circled for years.
However it is understood from sources close to the situation that the Christian Dior transaction will have “absolutely no impact” on the ownership structure of Moët Hennessy.
Both LVMH and Diageo declined to comment on speculation.
