Turin Vermouth and Caporale host Singapore masterclass
Noted bartender Simone Caporale has led a Turin Vermouth trade masterclass at The Library bar in Singapore, introducing bartenders to the production of and creative uses for the category.

After an Americano welcome drink, bartenders learned about the Turin Vermouth portfolio and history, tasted the range, and enjoyed a mini-Manhattan break during the 23 March masterclass.
The event also kicked off the first in a series of guest shifts at The Library, where Italian Caporale showcased serves based on his love for the ingredients, herbs and spices from his home country.
The masterclass directly follows Singapore Cocktail Week, which took place across the city-state last week.
Turin Vermouth is a new brand to Singapore, and is distributed in the market by 6DM Spirits.
“With Simone’s help we will be able to connect with bar industry here in Singapore and link the brand with bartenders in craft cocktails,” said Tomas Gejdos, spirits portfolio manager at 6DM ad a former sommelier and bartender.
“Unfortunately, there is not huge vermouth drinking culture in Singapore and vermouth is more considered a cocktail ingredients rather than for sipping on its own or over ice. To have such an experienced bartender here talking about vermouth category is very beneficial for vermouth and as well for bartenders in Singapore.
“Turin Vermouth ticks all the boxes that I expect from a modern young company willing to grow and at the same time educate the young but experienced bar industry here in Singapore.”
6DM is a new distributor on the market and has a background in beer. Alongside Turin Vermouth, it focuses on boutique brands, including Zufanek, Onder de Boompjes, alongside more established names such as Stolichnaya vodka and Hendrick’s gin.
The distributor is focusing on bringing new brands to Singapore and supporting them with masterclasses, guest bartending slots, competitions, and distillery visits.
Fellow Singapore bar Tippling Club recently announced a month of bar takeovers to coincide with Singapore Cocktail Festival.
